Before Codex in February, I made half the edition of my book “Snow Flakes.” I’ve sold all but one, so this week I’m making the other half. Here’s all the pieces laid out, ready to start assembly. Here’s a link to the finished book.

Butterfly book by Johanna Finnegan-Topitzer, called Journey. Love the way it’s got its own stand! Size of the butterfly (2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″). Full leather w/ leather onlays. Block printed illustrations, letterpress text. Found here… and there are lots more books there too.
As part of the Sketchbook Project, Lisa Kirkpatrick did this cut out book from an 5 x 8.5″ moleskine cahier notebook. The Sketchbook Project organizes global, collaborative art projects, with their biggest on-going project a crowd-sourced library that features 33,800 artists’ books contributed by people from over 135 countries. They have a challenge page with other short term projects. Here’s a few pictures of Kirkpatrick’s notebook. See more here.
Puzzle book by Mirim Seo & Kelly Holohan (2012). They say: “Chomp puzzle books are designed to teach kids about basic food chains. Each puzzle introduces a different level of a food chain in its environment; Forest, Ocean, Arctic, Jungle, and Desert. All food chains include, producers, consumers, and decomposers and each plays a role in the chain. When completed, the puzzle shows the eating process.” Many more photos here
There are lots of suggestions on the internet about incorporating paint or pantone swatches in art, but I like these best. They are by London-based artist Nick Smith.
