Recently Amazon opened a new section called “Handmade at Amazon” (if you use Amazon, you know this sounds like an oxymoron!) Amazon says the section “is a new store on Amazon.com for invited artisans to sell their unique, handcrafted goods to our hundreds of millions of customers worldwide.” I hesitated applying, and then decided to give it a try through Christmas. My planners & calendars compete against all the non-handmade and non-personalized planners that are already established on Amazon. But unlike the usual Amazon vendor, sellers in the handmade section can offer a long list of customizations. My biggest head-ache on Etsy is that they only allow 2 customizations and no text field (for the name or phrase on the cover), so I spend a fair amount of time chasing down buyers to find out what they want on the cover. I did a couple of new designs for my Amazon store and you can see them here.
