Pilcro and the Letterpress

From the title, you might think this is post about type. It’s not. It’s about the brand name of a clothing line, exclusive to the Anthropologie chain. (Pilcro is a variant spelling of pilcrow, the paragraph mark: ΒΆ.) I can’t find out why they used that name, and it’s since been shortened from “pilcro and the letterpress” to just “pilcro.” They make a bit of an effort to follow the theme, with “hyphen shorts,” “stet jeans,” “serif leggings” and “superscript jeans.” (That’s the tag in their clothing, above. )
