 At the San Francisco Center for the Book’s holiday fair last month, my PodPost friend Carolee was selling these Ladies of the Letterpress patches for her friend Jessica White of Heroes & Criminals Press. I immediately snatched one up for my printer’s apron, to go along with my other merit badges. Jessica lives in Iowa and you can read about her press and bookmaking on her blog.

Speaking of “Ladies of Letterpress”…I was at a New Year’s Knit-in on Sunday and the hostess was talking about a great Christmas present she had received: an alphabet broadside framed for her by her partner. Hmmm, yes, it turned out to be “Safe Ground” from Green Chair Press. Golly, I think you can wear your new badge with justified pride.
Jessica and I also have a group called Ladies of Letterpress, where ladies of letterpress, and men as well, can talk about printing, get tips and help, and even buy a fabulous t-shirt. Membership is free!
