To celebrate the beginning of winter, I’m giving away a set of my coasters. To enter, describe what you like (or don’t like) about winter in exactly 3 lines (doesn’t have to be a haiku) in the comments below. Contest ends Saturday December 3rd at 7am (MT), when I’ll select a commenter at random. |
Windy and rainy.
The lights begin to flicker.
Dark. Sigh…get candles.
all safely home after school and work
snuggling up on the sofa
strictly come dancing 🙂
My breath clouds floating in cold clear air
Plant bodies articulated with frost and light
Quiet underfoot
snow, turning to slush
corner ponds like great lakes
I measure depth with my cane
The cozy comfort of foggy skies
candlelight in the windows
woolen socks and sweaters
Snowflakes and hot chocolate,
star gazing on crisp clear nights,
snuggling under blankets.
Digging out two cars is no fun at all.
Walking on ice and trying not to fall.
Dreaming of a warm port of call.
Long, rainy, dark nights
Perfect excuse to stay in
Flick on the gas fire
dark and soft
flickering shadows on the cabin wall
hibernation
The crisp mornings.
The low sun.
The Black snow.
